Import deadlines from a syllabus
Every course hands you a syllabus with the term's deadlines buried in it. Give that PDF to Latte and it pulls out the due dates, exams and hand-ins, shows you what it found, and — only after you confirm — turns them into tasks.
You need the syllabus as a PDF with selectable text (the kind you can copy text out of), up to 10 MB. Latte reads the text directly — it doesn't guess at scans — so a photographed or scanned syllabus is refused with This PDF has no selectable text: "It looks like a scan. Export the syllabus with selectable text (or run OCR on it) and try again."
Importing a syllabus is free — it isn't a Premium feature.
- 🖥 Web
- 📱 Mobile
-
Open Calendar → Schedule setup (the schedule screen at
/calendar/schedule). -
Click Import deadlines from a syllabus (PDF) and pick your file. Latte opens Import deadlines from a syllabus — "We scan your syllabus PDF for due dates, exams and hand-ins. Nothing is created until you confirm."
-
While it works you'll see Reading your syllabus…
-
Check the Date format setting. Latte reads dates Day first (31.12.2026) by default; switch to Month first (12/31/2026) if your syllabus uses US-style dates — it re-reads the PDF straight away.
-
Review what it found: "N deadlines found — untick anything you don't want to import." Each row shows Import (the keep-checkbox), Title, Due date, Type (Exam, Assignment, Quiz or Other) and the Page it came from. Titles and dates are editable — fix anything that came out wrong, and untick anything you don't want.

Click Create N tasks. Latte creates one task per ticked row and confirms "N tasks created from your syllabus." Use View tasks to jump to them, or Done to close.
The desktop app opens the same dialog.
-
Open the Today tab and tap Import deadlines from a syllabus (PDF).
-
Pick the PDF. Latte opens Import deadlines from a syllabus and shows Reading your syllabus… while it works.
-
Review the extracted deadlines — untick anything you don't want, and edit any title or due date that came out wrong.

Tap Create N tasks.
The Date format switch (Day first / Month first) is here too, but changing it doesn't re-read the file on mobile — pick the PDF again after switching.
If nothing is found
If the PDF has text but no dated deadlines, Latte says No deadlines found — "We could not find dated deadlines in this PDF. You can still add tasks manually." — see Create a task.
